Community Service

At Mitcham Girls High School we value civic responsibility and community service. Every year, during the final week of Term 4, our Year 8 and 9 girls engage in community service activities.

The girls complete a number of community service projects chosen from a list of options. The activities give support to community-based service providers. For instance, girls put together safe birthing kits for Zonta International. Zonta then delivers the kits to developing nations.

Students also fill "shoe boxes of love" with Christmas gifts which are delivered to needy families.

Support is also given to local organisations: Westcare, Sunset Lodge Retirement Home and the Australian Refugee Association.

We are proud of the enthusiasm shown by our students in support of their communities.
